The chicken pulao recipe, along with biryani, is a proud dish originating from Southeast Asia that is popular in both east and west. Festivities in India and Pakistan are incomplete without these delicious dishes and they are so popular that guests expect them to be part of the menu! Although it’s more popular in Asia, it was first documented in the 10th Century by a famous Persian scholar Abu Ali Ibn Sina! Today, Chicken Pulao is cooked in a number of countries like Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Suadi Arabia, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, India, etc. under different names.
Chicken Pulao is something that everyone in my household absolutely loves. It’s one of my loves in this life as I loved eating that as I grew up! Now, I can’t compete with the taste of chicken pulao that my grandmother used to make (I think she had a lot more love to give and it showed in her cooking) but I can share her recipe with you!
Here’s a recipe of delicious mild Chicken Pulao that I am sure you and your loved ones are absolutely going to enjoy!

Blend onions, tomatoes, garlic ginger, and black pepper in a blender |

Put deep cuts on chicken with a knife. Apply 2 tbsp. of lemon juice and salt. |

Heat oil in a wok and oil is heated, fry chicken and remove once it's light brown in shade. |

Add blended mixture to the wok and continue cooking until oil separates. |

Add chicken to the wok and continue cooking for a while. |

Par-boil rice with all rice ingredients and then strain the rice. |

Grease a pot and layer it with half rice. |

Next, remove the chicken mixture from the wok and split that into two parts. Layer the rice with one part chicken and then once done, add the 2nd layer of rice on top of it. |

Add the 2nd part of chicken with masala on top of the 2nd rice layer. |
